Acer Aspire 5 Laptop Review

Acer Aspire 5 Intel Core i5 11th Generation Laptop

  • Intel Core i5-1135G7 Processor - up to 4.20 GHz
  • Acer Fingerprint Reader
  • Backlit Keyboard
  • Up to 8.5 Hours Battery Life

Mid-range laptops are coming up with newer and better features that are making it difficult for people to choose the right laptop for themselves. With improved designs, powerful processors, and great battery life, almost every laptop seems to be a good fit. Whatever feature you may ask for, you may find it on almost every laptop. However, some factors can make you decide otherwise. And using these drawbacks, we decide if the laptop is good enough for you.

Acer Aspire 5 is an Intel Core i5, 11th Gen processor, and is one such laptop that falls in the mid-range category of laptop, and here, we review it. With tough competition in the market, this laptop has features that you might find unique, but it also has certain drawbacks that might be of importance to you.

Build and Design

One of the first things that you notice about a laptop is its looks. A premium-looking laptop with good style and design is always acknowledged by everyone around it. People often prefer to have good-looking laptops with premium looks, and Acer Aspire 5 gives you exactly that. It comes in two absolutely classic colors of Charcoal Black and Silver.

The silver is my personal favorite, as it gives this Best Laptop under 60000 a very premium look. It makes it look very classy and expensive. The hinges of the laptop are very important, and this laptop has very strong hinges. The chassis has a round protrusion which makes the laptop very unique. Besides, the protrusion gives the laptop an uplift when you open it. It gives the user a very comfortable position to use the laptop and enhances sound quality.

The keyboard is well-spaced, has backlit lighting, and gives the user a very smooth typing experience. However, only the Indian variant of this laptop has backlighting, so if you are purchasing it from outside India, that feature will be missing. Some variants have a fingerprint scanner on the trackpad, which is unique and new.

The trackpad is smooth enough and recognizes all Windows gestures. However, some may feel the need to use a mouse. Acer has upped its game by creating different variants for different preferences and applying unique, creative ideas to make its laptops stand out. Works well for everybody!

With the latest 11th Generation, Intel i5 Core processor, this laptop is extremely good at multitasking, casual gaming, and working. It has a performance speed like no other, thanks to the 512 GB SSD and Intel’s new Tiger Lake processor with Irix Xe Graphics which helps to deliver 20% better performance.

You can download videos, watch movies and use heavy applications like Adobe Premiere Pro and edit 4K videos. You might encounter slight trouble with the loud fan noise while doing heavy work, but the noise is bearable.

Acer Aspire 5 can be a perfect choice for those who are into casual gaming. The Nvidia MX 350 graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 Video RAM allows casual gaming and few other games with medium to high settings. Combining powerful CPU and GPU in this laptop makes it a good choice for people of graphic intensive work.

Battery Life

Now, we come to the battery; it sits, which is where this laptop loses points.  A 48Wh battery powers it. It charges to 100% in 2 hours. While testing the battery, It was found that the laptop had a battery life of 9.5 hours for light use with 50% brightness.  For heavy use, it was found that the battery lasted for 4 hours. Using heavy applications like Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop would drain the battery of this laptop in 3 to 4 hours.  Especially if you are using this laptop for gaming, you would have to compromise a lot in that aspect because the battery would drain as rapidly as it can,  possibly to 2 hours.

At this price, you can expect this laptop to provide you with more battery hours.  On average, you can expect this laptop to work for 5 + hours. More can be expected from the battery of this laptop,  considering its robust processes and memory storage. In most laptops, you can charge the laptop using the USB C-type cable. However, this laptop cannot be charged using the USB C.  You have to charge it using the Acer power adapter.

Final Thoughts On Acer Aspire 5 Laptop Review

On the whole, Acer Aspire 5 is a great laptop for your purchase. In mid-range laptops, this is easily one of the best choices. The battery is the only major concern with this laptop, and in this technology-driven era, it is not very difficult to find a place to charge your laptop. However, if you feel that a weak battery is a major drawback for you, you can always opt for other laptops.

The laptop has several variants and some important features missing from a few, which is a lack of effort from Acer. Indians can have access to the backlit keyboard but not the fingerprint sensor feature in the same laptop, which can easily be out into the design. However, you mustn’t completely decide over this point because Acer may decide to make changes.

For students, professors, and people with basic computing work who like to multitask, this laptop is perfect. You can be sure of enjoying watching a movie and/or binge-watch shows on this laptop. As said earlier, it is simply the best choice for casual gamers. Heavy applications can be downloaded and used provided you can bear the loud fan noise. Amongst the mid-range laptops, this laptop is worth considering. Everything from the processors to the display and performance is very good. An affordable, stylish and user-friendly laptop. A good buy!
