Checking For Device Compatibility

We all know that not all Windows 10 software can run Windows 11. So checking for compatibility is the best idea to determine whether Microsoft thinks you will install or not.

You can start by checking for the updates on the screen, which you can do by browsing “Windows Update” in the search bar.

Well, it’s not required that you completely update Windows 10 first before moving to Windows 11. You can say it’s a superstition or anything because, beyond everything, you are going to install a whole new OS.

Move further and click on the “Check Hardware Updates” link. It will launch Edge on your browser screen and land you on a page that will tell you about Windows 11.

Go ahead and press on the learn more tab, and you will get to another page.

Click on the check for compatibility. Now, move ahead and press on the PC health check app.

Launch the app once it’s stored in your download directory.

There is no need to put a shortcut of the app on your desktop as you are only going to run this thing for once, so run it by hitting on the Finish tab.

Now, hit that check button.

And if everything remains good, you will see that on your screen as there will be a message on your screen showing whether your PC meets Windows 11 requirements or not.

Before you begin the installation, check the following conditions if they apply to you or not-

  • You should have a Windows 10 license.
  • Your computer must have Windows 10, version 2004 or more installed to run the Windows OS installation assistance.
  • Your PC must have 9GB of free disk space for downloading Windows 11 software.
